The campaign ended, paused or ran out of budget

Three ways a campaign stops taking clips, and for each one what happens to clips you submitted, clips still pending, and money still on its way.

Written by CR Support

A campaign stopping feels final, but for your clips it changes less than you'd think.

Money your clip has earned is set aside for you from the campaign's budget as it earns it, before the campaign's team decides as well as after, and whether the campaign then ends, pauses or spends its last dollar, everything already set aside stays yours and settles on the same timeline it always would have. What a stop changes is what happens next: while a campaign is paused or has no budget left, new views stop earning, and they start again if the brand tops it up.

Three ways a campaign stops

What happened

What it means , and your clips and money

The budget is spent

Submit clip goes grey and the campaign leaves Discover, so no new submissions; nothing on the page says paused.

Money already set aside still settles. New views stop earning until the brand tops up, and start again when it does.

The brand ended it

It leaves Discover and submissions close.

Approved clips keep settling, and the earning window on each runs as it would have.

The brand paused it

Submit clip goes grey and the campaign leaves Discover while it is paused.

Money already set aside keeps settling, new views stop earning while it is paused, and pending clips wait for the team's decision.

There is no Paused label on the campaign for creators. The tell is Submit clip, greyed out, over a budget bar with almost nothing left.

A stopped campaign as a creator sees it: Submit clip greyed out, and the budget nearly spent

Your clip was pending when it stopped

The campaign's team can still approve a pending clip after the campaign stops. If the campaign still has budget, an approval pays as normal. If the budget is fully spent, there is nothing left to pay a new approval from until the brand tops up, so the team may reject it instead. It is worth asking in the campaign's support chat, and worth knowing that answer before you do.

Earnings still on the way after the end

They are on their normal schedule: on CPM that is the earning window, which ends 7 days after approval, then a 3 day hold, then payment. The campaign ending does not cancel them and does not speed them up, and Payouts walks through each step on the way.

Views that arrive after the end

They count while the clip's earning window is open and the campaign still has budget. A campaign that is paused or out of budget stops counting new views until it is funded again; a campaign that simply ended does not change the window. Why your view count does not match ours covers the two clocks.

You cannot join, or the application is closed

The campaign has stopped taking new creators, or it is an application campaign whose team has not approved you yet. Do not submit through a form you found elsewhere, because that will not reach the campaign; ask the team in the campaign's support chat for the current route, or find another campaign on Discover. Find and apply to a campaign covers how joining works.

Whatever stopped the campaign, what you already earned is set aside for you and pays on schedule.
