Your account shows as not linked

What to do when the submit dialog says your post is not from a linked account, or the verification code will not go through, even though you connected the account.

Your account shows as not linked

Annoying message, simple fix nearly every time, so work down the list.

We match the account that published the post against the accounts you have connected and verified in Content Rewards, and the match has to be exact: the same account, on the same platform, verified here rather than in Whop. When it is not, the first check in the submit dialog turns red. Every reason that happens is below, most common first, followed by every way the verification code itself can fail.

The first check in the submit dialog, failed: the post is not from one of your linked accounts

The seven causes

Cause

How to tell , and fix

The account is still Pending

In Settings, then Connected accounts, the row carries an orange Pending pill and a Verify link. Connecting only finishes when Verify account succeeds.

Press Verify, put the code in your bio, and verify it. The section below covers every way that step can fail.

You linked the account in Whop, not here

The account shows in Whop's settings but not in Connected accounts here.

Whop and Content Rewards are separate connections. Connect the account again inside Content Rewards: Settings, then Connected accounts, then Connect account.

It is a different account

The handle on the post is an alt, a typo, an old handle, or a business account you post from by mistake.

Compare the handle on the post with the verified one in the list. We match the account that published the post, so a repost, or a clip someone else uploaded, will not match even when the video is yours.

It is a different platform

You verified YouTube and posted on TikTok.

Each row in Connected accounts is one account on one platform. Connect each platform you post from.

The account is verified on another Content Rewards account

Connecting it here says it is already connected to another user.

A social account can be connected to one Content Rewards account at a time. Submit from the account it is on, unlink it there first, or send us both usernames and the handle and we move it.

The profile went private, was renamed, or was suspended

The row has dropped back to Pending, or the check fails on a profile that used to pass.

We re-check the account with the platform, and if the platform will not return the profile we cannot confirm it is yours. Set the profile back to public, then reconnect it.

You connected the account before 29 August 2026 and have not submitted from it since

An older account that has not been used in the new app.

Since that date we store the platform's own account ID rather than the handle. An older account repairs itself the first time you submit from it, up to five accounts per submission, until 15 October 2026; after that, connect it again.

Verified accounts carry no pill; only a Pending one does

How the verification code works

When you connect an account we give you a code in the form CR-XXXXXX. You put it in the profile's bio and save, then press Verify account (this is how TikTok and Instagram connect; YouTube and X connect by signing in on the platform instead, so there is no code for those); we open the profile as any visitor would and look for that code, checking every 30 seconds while the dialog is open. Three things have to be true for that to pass: the profile is public, the code appears exactly as we showed it, and it is still inside its 24 hours.

The verification code screen, with Copy code and Verify account

On the platform side the code is plain text in the bio, and that is all the check looks for.

When the code does not verify

What happened

Why , and fix

The code is not found in your profile

The platform has not published your bio change yet, the profile is private, or the code was changed on the way in by a dropped character, an extra space or a keyboard turning a dash into something else.

Wait a moment and press Verify account again; set the profile to public until the check passes; paste the code again from the Verify screen rather than typing it. Open your own profile in a private browser window, logged out: if you cannot see the code there, we cannot either.

The code expired

A code is valid for 24 hours.

Press Change handle and start again to get a fresh code, then put the new one in your bio; the old one will not pass.

The code is there and it still fails

Occasionally a platform hides a bio change from visitors for longer than usual, even though you can see it.

Leave the code in place and press Verify account again after a few minutes. If it keeps failing, send us a screenshot of your bio with the code visible, and the handle, and we confirm the account by hand.

An account that was verified now says Pending again

On a routine check we could not confirm it, which happens when a handle changes or a profile goes private. Anything already approved is not affected, but you cannot submit from it until it is verified again.

Set the profile to public, press Verify, and put the new code in the bio.

Settings, then Connected accounts, then Connect account

Why the check stays grey on Instagram and YouTube

A TikTok or X link carries the handle in the URL, so we can check it as you type. An Instagram or YouTube link does not, so that check waits until you press Submit clip, and grey is not a failure; it means the answer comes from our side, a moment later.

What to do

We couldn't verify your linked account with the platform

The check could not run this time. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it keeps failing, reset the account: in Connected accounts open the three dots next to it, choose Unlink and type the platform name to confirm, then press Connect account and verify it again.

You don't have a linked TikTok account (or another platform)

Nothing is connected for that platform at all. Connect it in Settings, then submit again.

The post's account was not approved on this draft

The account is linked, but this campaign approves your accounts before you post. Use one of the accounts approved on your draft.

Unlink sits behind the three dots on the account you want to reset

Still failing

Open Help & Support (the chat bubble in the corner of this page and of the app) and send us the link you are submitting and a screenshot of your Connected accounts tab. Those two things are all we need to see which of the causes above it is. If the account is one you had before the new version launched, What happened to your previous-version submissions and payouts explains what changed.

It's usually one of the first two, and once the account is verified here the message goes away for good.
